The First Great Exhibition is comprised of a group of Elite: Dangerous players/testers who are planning, well, the first ‘great’ expedition. If hanging out with chilled out, exploration minded, helpful players is your cup of tea, then these pilots sound about right for you. They’re up to 400+ members now, so their coverage of the less well frequented timezones should be improving.
Even if you’re not going to be slotting your Asp into their wagon train, you can still find a wealth of useful exploration type information and tips on their site. For example, did you know an Asp with a ‘D’ class frame-shift drive will jump 39.29 ly? No, nor did I, until reading this thread on their forum.
Not only is there a great store of useful information on jump drives, fuel scooping, scanners, maps, and more, building by the day, but there is aslo (yet another) great collection of images. There are both artistic shots and a more sterile, but nicely detailed selection of cataloged celestial bodies (currently sorted by system).
Whether I end up hanging out with this lot in space or not, I will certainly be keeping an eye on what they get up to, and I might well contribute the odd thing or two to their site. Nice work, FGE!
